Always in a Hurry!

by Christine
I‘m late, I’m late!!! For a very important date, no time to say hello, goodbye. I’m Late, I’m late, I’m late!!!

Do y’all remember the Disney movie “Alice in Wonderland?”

The crazy time crunched rabbit running around senselessly saying, “I’m late, I’m late!”

Well folks, after driving in town recently, I have come to the conclusion we’ve got way too many nonsense people running around acting senseless on the roads.

I was passed on the shoulder once by a teenager with music blaring, then nearly ran off the road by some crazy person weaving in and out of traffic, and then to top it off watched this crazy guy check to see what his pickup could do, by driving in the median to get through the light.

Believe it or not, all of this took place in a half hour time.

Why, that’s enough to send this old woman into a frenzy!

Idiots!!!

Yes, I called them idiots!!!

Bless all our hearts!!!

Slow down, there isn’t a thing in this world worth wrecking over.

What’s wrong with everybody????

I finally thought to myself, “Enough!!!”, and just pulled over and just sat there in my car and watched people and tried to regain my composure of calm; which I might add took a few minutes!!

Wow!

If people live their lives like most drive; they don’t see or hear a thing.

Life is just one big blur each day, just to repeat the next.

In watching and listening to people, that’s the life of so many today.

That’s truly sad, we were not created by God, to live in a rat race to be on top.

Gonna have a lot of regrets one day!!!

You spend all your time running around, set in super fast motion. You think to yourself, gotta make more money, need a nicer car, a bigger house, a bigger bank account, gotta keep up with the neighbors.

That all is such nonsense!!!

Yes, we all are to work and provide, but not to the extreme of more, more, more.

The kids will be grown one day, and you spent so much time focusing on more hours, more money, nicer car, nicer house, and on and on, that when you finally come to your senses and slow down.

The shattering reality is well as a lot of country folks would say “just gonna smack you in your face”.

Those darling children you had are now all grown, and you modeled exactly what they are now striving for today, more!!!

More money, more toys, more, more, more!!!

You are ready to slow down, to have family time, but well, they’ve already grown up and started their own lives.

They don’t have time to make for you; they are in too big of a hurry, too much to do, too many places to be, gotta get more and more.

There’s no time to slow down.

Sound familiar?

What a sad, but true cycle we live in today!

So, folks, I dare each of you to try this.

I suspect most of you will not, just because the sheer thought of it sets you on edge.

Turn everything off to complete quiet, go set somewhere by yourself, no gadgets of any kind, no sound of any kind.

Nothing or nobody else in your area, but YOU!!!

The only thing you should be able to hear, is just you……. breathing; slowly, calmly just breathing.

Now, see if you can sit there for 15 minutes.

You just simply sit in the stillness… doing nothing, focusing on the calm.

Can you do it?

Are you even willing to try?

Or is going full speed ahead like a crazy rabbit more important to you?

When was the last time you sat in the stillness, even for 5 minutes?

You should try it sometime, like maybe now.

Do you think you can do it?

I think a bunch of you are going, “Yeah right, piece of cake.”

Well, then go for it!!!

I dare you.

By the way, I’d love to hear comments back on this one.

Especially if your brave enough to truly do it.

My guess is over 70% of you are too attached to gadgets and gizmos to survive it.

I dare ya to prove me wrong!

I double dog dare ya!!!!!!

Til next time!!!
